The first pictures from inside the MyStar are here! The interior design of the most eco-friendliest LNG-powered vessel on the Baltic Sea, MyStar is carried out by renowned Finnish interior design agency dSign Vertti Kivi & Co.

Tallink's newest vessel, MyStar, is being built in Finland at Rauma Marine Constructions, RMC, shipyard. MyStar project is in the core of strong Finnish shipbuilding expertise: RMC, founded in 2014, is one of Europe's leading shipbuilding companies and is fully domestically owned Finnish company. We found out what kind and how big of dock are we talking about.

The designers at the Finnish renown interior design agency dSign Vertti Kivi & Co have been busy working away on the interior design plans for the newest Tallink Group shuttle vessel MyStar. dSign agency was also responsible for developing the interior design of the current Tallink Grupp’s flagship vessel Megastar. MyStar’s virgin voyage being less than a year away, we asked dSign to share with us how the interior design process is coming along.

At the Rauma shipyard, the newbuild No 6003 - Tallink’s newest shuttle vessel MyStar had to undergo a very extraordinary intermediate floating. Another vessel under construction at the shipyard, vessel Aurora Botnia, commissioned by Wasaline, was to be transferred to the equipment berth, and therefore MyStar’s hull was also to be floated at the same time.

The first keel blocks of MyStar are now ready and the construction of the ship’s hull started on Friday, 18 September 2020 at Rauma Marine Constructions shipyard. The first keel block of the new vessel was laid in keeping with the traditional shipbuilding ceremony. Keel laying is the second most important milestone in the shipbuilding following the cutting of the first sheet of steel.
